Degendering Survey Tableau Summary

tldr: A tableau workbook was developed to make survey results understandable for a general audience

In traditional partner dancing roles it is men who lead and women who follow. There is a growing community among swing dancers who disagree with this position, taking the stance that everyone should be able to do what they want. If women want to lead or men want to follow, let them. Although many, myself included, prefer the "let people dance what they want" stance, there is some opposition to it.

Surveys were conducted in 2013 and 2017 to gauge the dance community opinion on the topic of degendering roles. Anonymized results were presented as raw tables. Although it was good that the data was made available, no insight could be readily drawn by a general audience. To make the findings understandable I put together a Tableau workbook.[1, above] It provided dashboards to explore the survey by and across year as well as a story to summarize some of the major findings. It was viewed ~800 times.
